RAWALPINDI: Liquid oxygen tank capacity in Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) has doubled after a surge in Covid-19 patients in four major government-run hospitals in the garrison city.

Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Umer reviewed the oxygen arrangements in Holy Family Hospital, Benazir Bhutto Hospital, District Headquarters Hospital and Rawalpindi Institute of Urology at his office.

He directed the hospital administrations to make oxygen arrangements as the number of patients was increasing.

The meeting was informed that total number of oxygenated beds in all four hospitals during the first phase was 300 and in the second phase, they had risen to 500 beds.

They said so far 320 beds were occupied and 40 ventilators out of the available 60 vents were in use.
