TAXILA: Hassanabdal Police arrested a man pretending to be a spiritual healer to extort money from people.

Police sources said on public complaints, a police party led by Station House Officer Rana Kashif arrested the suspect. Dolls, sewing pins and other items were also recovered from his possession.

A case has been registered against him under sections 420, 500, 508 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

Meanwhile, Attock police in their crackdown against anti-social elements have arrested three lawbreakers besides recovering huge quantities of kites, strings and drugs from their possession.

According to a police spokesman, Attock Khurd police foiled two different bids of drug smuggling from KP to Punjab and arrested two suspects. Police sources said 0.9 kgs of opium and hashish was recovered from one of the suspects while 1.8 kgs of heroin was recovered from the other.

Separately, another man was arrested and 300 kites and 20 strings rolls were recovered from his possession. Separate cases were registered against the suspects under relevant law while further investigation is underway.
