LAHORE: PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif’s son Hamza Shebaz has decided to ‘monitor’ Daska by-poll campaign by himself.

Presiding over a party leaders meeting on the March 18 by-poll in NA-75 at Model Town here on Monday, Hamza, who was released from jail recently in a money laundering case after spending 20 months, said he would himself monitor the by-poll. Earlier, PML-N Vice President and Hamza’s cousin Maryam Nawaz had led the Daska by-poll campaign.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had voided the by-election - which was marred by clashes between workers of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and PML-N, the ‘mysterious disappearance’ of around 20 presiding officers and the suspected tampering with results - and ordered re-poll in the entire constituency on March 18.

The PML-N meeting was also attended by Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Sanaullah and Saad Rafique.
