KARACHI: Brisk cargo handling activities witnessed at the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) during the week (Feb 22-26) in which the share of import and export shipments stood at 740,355 tonnes and 328,399 tonnes respectively.

In import category, 324,478 tonnes of containerised cargo was handled followed by 178,939 tonnes of oil and liquid cargo, 108,068 tonnes of wheat, 45,208 tonnes of rock phosphate, 38,844 tonnes of soyabean seeds, 23,267 tonnes of bulk cargo and 5,551 tonnes of canola.

Export shipments included 236,679 tonnes of containerised cargo, 78,788 tonnes of clinkers, 12,900 tonnes of oil and liquid cargo and 32 tonnes of bulk cargo.
