PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party has announced nationwide protest rallies today (Monday) against the enforced disappearance of people in different provinces to build pressure on the government for safe recovery of the missing persons.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, ANP central spokesman Zahid Khan said party’s central senior vice-president Amir Haider Khan Hoti would lead a protest rally in Mardan while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter president Aimal Wali Khan would lead a demonstration in Charsadda.

The presidents of other provinces will lead processions in their respective areas, he said, adding a protest rally in Buner would be led by provincial general secretary Sardar Hussain Babak.

Samar Haroon Bilour will lead a rally in Nowshera to express sympathies with the families of the missing persons. In addition to ANP workers other democracy-loving people would also participate in the rallies, Zahid Khan said.
