Animated series about Scooby-Doo character

Velma Dinkley, the Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. gang’s resident smarty, is getting her own series.

HBO Max announced that Mindy Kaling is the executive producer and voice of the lead in Velma, a comedic origin story about the “unsung and underappreciated brains” of the iconic mystery-solving squad.

Velma is described as “an original and humorous spin that unmasks the complex and colourful past of one of America’s most beloved mystery solvers.”

Wizard of Oz remake in the works

All-time favourite movie of kids and adults around the world, the Wizard of Oz remake is in the works at New Line Cinema.

It is said that Nicole Kassell is directing the film, an adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s beloved book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Baum’s story has been retold on the big and small screen many times over the years, yet New Line promises the upcoming film will be a “fresh take” on Dorothy and the Land of Oz, adding that it can “draw on other elements” from Garland’s Wizard of Oz— like the prized ruby red slippers.

Pokémon Day virtual concert!

Post Malone is headlining the Pokémon Day virtual concert set for February 27 in celebration of Pokémon’s 25th anniversary.

Fans can view the performance starting at 7pm EST on YouTube, Twitch and its website.

Malone appears in a teaser trailer for the concert where he holds a Poké Ball and transforms into an animated version of himself onstage. The concert is part of Pokémon’s yearlong P25 music programme announced in January, that celebrates the franchises 25th anniversary. Katy Perry and other artists will also be featured as part of P25.
