PESHAWAR: A man and a woman were killed for honour in Loli Faqiran village of Ghulam Khan tehsil in North Waziristan tribal district on Monday.

North Waziristan SP investigations Atique Hussain told the media that a man stabbed to death his sister-in-law inside the house and her alleged paramour outside. He said the woman aged 30 was pregnant and had two children.

SP Hussain said the police conducted a raid on the house and arrested the accused, who confessed the crime.

The bodies were handed over to the family members after postmortem at the DHQ Hospital, Miramshah.

Meanwhile, kidney patients are facing problems due to non-availability of a dialysis machine at the District Headquarters Hospital, Miramshah. They have no other option but to go to Bannu and Peshawar for availing the facility.

A source said the Miramshah hospital dialysis machine had been purchased, but was yet to be brought to the facility. He said the local lawmakers were approached to install the machine at the hospital, but to no avail.

The local residents, including Youth of Waziristan chairman Noorul Islam Dawar, have demanded of the health department to install the dialysis machine at the hospital at the earliest and also post technicians.
