LARKANA: After three weeks of investigation into what was claimed to be “murder by robbers”, police arrested the victim’s son for killing Fida Hussain Jhatiyal, a resident of Bakrani, on Dec 31.

According to the police, Sajjad Jhatiyal had killed his father and gave the murder a colour of robbery. Later a murder case was registered against the family’s opponents to distract police.

The probe was conducted by a team formed by the Larkana SSP under the supervision of SP Headquarters Mohammed Kaleem Malik. The team reached Sajjad Jhatiyal through his call data. It transpired that Sajjad had killed his father for not allowing him to marry a woman of his choice.

Sajjad’s brother, Nizam, had knowledge of the matter and he had gone underground to escape arrest, police said, adding that the crime weapon in the case was recovered from Sajjad.
