ISLAMABAD: A woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her brother over a money dispute in Wapda Colony.

The victim was identified as Uzma bibi, 29, police said, adding preliminary investigation suggested that the suspect asked her for some money and when she refused to give it to him he stabbed her.

Shortly after, he escaped and the victim was shifted to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A complaint was lodged against the suspect by his father, they added.

Meanwhile, over a dozen huts were gutted in a fire that broke out outside the capital’s vegetable and fruit market, fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

Labourers, working at the market had made huts to live therein.

Upon receiving information, the fire brigade along with police reached at the spot and began an operation to extinguish the fire.
