SWABI: Heads of public and private schools here have said that parents’ cooperation would be crucial in imparting education to their children while studying at home amid Covid-19 pandemic.

Talking to this correspondent, they said the parents could also get help from teachers to monitor educational activities of their children during closure of schools.

According to a recent policy, students of every class would visit their respective school once a week where teachers would check their homework and give them new assignments.

A senior English teacher said parents must contribute through monitoring of the children at home.

Education minister Shahram Tarakai has already said that where e-learning is not possible they have authorised the schools to call in students on grade basis so that students of only one class were called for attendance on a given day in a week for giving them homework, assignments, etc.

They said that in present circumstances the homework strategy was the best one, but if a student had someone around to guide him at home it would be fruitful.

“We have devised a strategy to monitor the work of both teachers and students,” said a school principal.
