Holes in fence for pooch to watch passers-by

Aside from long walks and dinner time, there’s nothing dogs love more than making new friends. So one owner decided to create a way for her pooches to look through the fence in the garden.

Erin Joyce cut six small holes in her garden fence for her two dogs — four for the eyes and two for their noses to poke through.

A video of her returning home and her dogs running up to look through the fence has gone viral. So far the video has been watched over 10,000 times and garnered thousands of likes and numerous comments.

Many people replied to the clip to say it had inspired them to make peep holes for their own pets at home.

World’s oldest penguin

A gentoo penguin at a Danish zoo was declared the world’s oldest-living penguin in captivity after having her age confirmed to be 41 years, 141 days as of October of this year, earning her the world record.

The bird, named Olde, Danish for ‘great-grandmother,’ has lived long beyond the usual 30-year lifespan for a member of her species in captivity. In the wild, gentoo penguins typically live for 15-20 years.

Olde hatched at the Edinburgh Zoo in Scotland in 1979 and has lived at the Odense Zoo since 2003.

“Our zookeepers are professionals and as such they don’t have favourites — but I think it’s safe to say that Olde holds a special place in their animal-loving hearts,” said Danni Larsen, the Odense Zoo’s press and media officer.

Optical illusion tattoo

A tattoo artist left social media users baffled after inking an incredible optical illusion tattoo on the back of his client’s head.

Tattoo artist Matt Pehrson, who works at the Zion Tattoo Company in Utah, went to new extremes in his latest project, with an ‘insane optical illusion’ he designed for his friend Ryan.

Matt inked a series of thick lines on Ryan’s bald head diverting inwards to the back of his skull. And with the help of some clever shading tricks, Matt managed to make it look like a massive gaping hole.

The picture, which was originally posted on his Instagram account back in April where he has over 65,800 followers, recently received increased attention.

Bull’s horn spread earns record

Texas longhorn bull name Cowboy Tuff Chex is now a Guinness World Record holder, thanks to his 8.6-foot span of horns.

Cowboy Tuff Chex, purchased in 2017 by Richard and Jeanne Filip of Fayetteville, had his horns officially measured at the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association’s annual Horn Showcase and was declared a Guinness World Record holder.

The Filips said Cowboy Tuff Chex’s horn spread was already so wide when they purchased him that they had to buy a special trailer just to make sure he would fit. They said the bull’s popularity had led to a spike in requests for tours of their ranch.
