OKARA: A large number of pre-medical students on Monday protested in front of the local press club against the Pakistan Medical Commision (PMC) over [sudden] 50 per cent change in syllabus of entrance test.

The protesters said they had been preparing for the test for the last six months but the PMC administration changed the syllabus 20 days ahead of the test. They demanded the PMC restore the course recommended by the University of Health Sciences.

BOOKED: Police have registered a case against a man and his four accomplices for killing his wife and hanging her body from a ceiling fan in the room.

As per first information report, Dipalpur city on the complaint of woman’s brother registered a case against ‘B’ and his accmplices. It said the suspect had an alleged affair with the woman and the couple was married off.

Later, the suspect along with his accomplices killed her and hanged her body from the ceiling fan to portray the incident as suicide.

The case has been registered under sections 302, 148 and 149 of the PPC.

SNGPL: Dozens of staffers of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) led by senior official Bagh Zaman Khan protested against the proposed privatisation of the company.

They raised slogans against the proposed move to privatise the gas company and pledged to resist it all levels.
