UMERKOT: Six members of a family, including a child, died and one suffered serious injuries when a speeding passenger coach rammed into a taxi car on Umerkot-Mirpurkhas road near Sufi Faqeer bus stop on Monday.

The coach was going to Umerkot and the car was to returning to Tando Adam after the family visited relatives in Umerkot when the accident took place.

The six occupants of the car including a child, a woman and others, were crushed to death while one unidentified person was rushed to Mirpurkhas hospital in critical condition.

Three of the injured were later identified as taxi driver Ameer Bux, Birju and Chandra Meghwar while the rest were yet to be identified.

Police shifted the bodies to Umerkot civil hospital for legal formalities.
