PESHAWAR: The government and private primary schools will resume classes from Wednesday (today) after remaining closed for more than six months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The elementary and secondary education department on Tuesday issued a notification regarding the commencement of the primary classes from Sept 30 with the condition that already notified Covid-19-induced SOPs would strictly be observed for safe schooling.

The sixth, seventh and eighth classes of both the government and private schools had resumed on Sept 23, while 9th and 10th graders resumed classes from Sept 15.

As per SOPs, classes having more than 30 students have been divided into two groups and each group would come to school for three days a week.

The private schools have already shared the names of the students in both the groups with the parents.

The schools’ administrations have also instructed the parents to provide face masks to their children as without mask the students won’t be allowed to enter the schools.
