HYDERABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sindh president Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has said that people should fully back political parties because it is the masses who put the final nail in the coffin of an unpopular government.

He told a gathering in Tando Allahyar on Sunday that the just-concluded all party conference (APC) might not be the nemesis of the government. Fresh elections were necessary to get rid of the government, he added.

He said the APC was a positive sign and people should back political parties as the APC might not prove to be the final nail in the coffin.

He said that national economy had been on the decline since the government was formed in Islamabad.

He said that no committee was formed which might lead to the “occupation” of Sindh by the Centre. A protest by a few people in Islamabad where a sit-in was staged was not a protest, but a musical party that used to end in the evening, he said.

He said the PPP always served the masses without any consideration of caste, creed and colour. PPP leaders preferred hangings, jails and bullets, but never compromised on peoples’ rights, he said.

Khuhro said the PPP always worked for the betterment and welfare of people. Workers were sacked in the pandemic, but the PPP government protected their jobs, he said.
