ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz has held the Peoples Party responsible for the grave situation of Karachi and said that instead of transforming Larkana into Karachi, the PPP had turned Karachi into Larkana.

Speaking at a news conference along with Minister for National Food Security and Research here on Wednesday, Mr Faraz said that the PPP was responsible for the destruction of Karachi because the PPP had been ruling Sindh for the past 10 years.

“If this is the situation of urban areas of Sindh, the state of rural areas is the worst where people have been facing hunger and poverty and these areas lack hospitals and educational facilities,” the minister said.

“It is our right to ask the PPP government of Sindh as to where it had spent the amount of Rs14 billion. They are just blaming the federal government for their own failure, corruption and incompetency. Is it the reason for opposing bills in Senate on Tuesday?” he questioned.

Mr Faraz said that the Opposition was united only on one-point and that was to protect their plundered national wealth against which they had been facing cases.

He said the Opposition parties had no capability to incite the people to take to streets against the government because they had been exposed by the government before the nation.

“The meeting between Shahbaz Sharif and Fazlur Rehman has ended without producing any result and at the same time both Bilawal Bhutto and Shahbaz Sharif have conflicting views on many issues,” the minister said.

Referring to Nawaz Sharif, the minister said that the government was not playing any card and it was using all legal channels to bring Nawaz Sharif back to the country to face cases filed against him.
