KARACHI: Senior journalist and founding member of the All Pakistan Newspaper Employees’ Confederation (Apnec) Housing Society, Scheme 33, Mamnoon ur Rehman passed away on Friday at the age of 75.

Mr Rehman had remained associated with daily Hurriyat as its news editor. He was the elected general secretary of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists-Dastoor and also remained active for the welfare of media workers during most of his career. He made relentless efforts in getting 24 acres of land for the housing scheme and succeeded in getting the land allotted by the Sindh government for media workers.

Mr Rehman has left a wife and four sons.
