ISLAMABAD: Three youngsters drowned while swimming in a nullah on Tuesday. Two of the deceased were siblings.

Talking to Dawn, Nilor police Station Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Abdul Sattar Baig said: “A group of eight to 10 youngsters, including siblings, cousins and friends, from Ghouri Town had gone to the nullah near Simli Dam for swimming.

Three of them went into the deep water and lost control and started shouting for help. The others rushed into the water but could not rescue them.”

Police and rescue workers reached the spot, retrieved the bodies and shifted them to hospital.

The bodies were later handed over to their families after completion of legal procedures, the SHO said.

The deceased were identified as Osama Shakeel, 18, his brother Shahroz Shakeel, 22, and their cousin Sohrab Jehangir.
