Lahore police claim to have registered 78 cases and sealed 582 shops in various areas of the city over violation of coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the last two days.

Officers conducted surprise raids in 155 markets of the city and sealed 582 shops over violations. Challan tickets were issued to 717 motorcyclists for not wearing masks and 1,469 shopkeepers were issued warnings.

Meanwhile, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, scores of shops and bus stands were sealed in various districts for SOPs violation.

About 20 transporters, drivers and their helpers have also been arrested from different bus stands during raids meant to check implementation of SOPs set by the administration to contain the spread of coronavirus.
