MIRPUR: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said that no coronavirus case has been reported in AJK so far.

He has directed the authorities concerned to monitor those visiting AJK from Europe and other countries.

Presiding over a meeting of the State Coordination Committee in Islamabad on Sunday, Mr Haider said no coronavirus case had been reported in AJK so far.

The meeting decided to ban public gatherings in the state as a precautionary measure with immediate effect.

AJK Chief Secretary Mathar Niaz Rana apprised the meeting that there were six suspected cases of coronavirus, of which four were declared clear while two were in quarantine.

He said pilgrims arriving from Iran would be kept in quarantine for 14 days in Mirpur.
