SUKKUR: The Sukkur bench of the Sindh High Court on Wednesday rejected Dec 17 decision of Sukkur accountability court to free Pakistan Peoples Party central leader Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor Zubair Malik told the court that the accountability court had passed verdict to free Mr Shah as NAB had not filed reference by then but it was beyond the court’s jurisdiction. The reference had been filed now and its trial was in process, he said.

Mukesh Kumar Karira advocate, counsel of Khursheed Shah, told the court that the trial against his client was in process in the accountability court and an application for grant of bail was submitted to SHC.

Justices Naimatullah Phulpoto and Amjad Hussain Sahito heard arguments of both the lawyers and rejected the accountability court’s Dec 17 decision. The detailed verdict in this regard would be issued later on, according to SHC.
