ISLAMABAD: The capital police arrested 13 suspects during a special crackdown launched against drug sellers and land grabbers.

A police spokesman said Banigala police rounded up five people after receiving a phone call from a citizen who accused them of land grabbing.

The police also recovered pistols along with ammunition from their possession.

The Sabzi Mandi police arrested a bootlegger and recovered 30 litres liquor from him while three people were held by Tarnol police.

The Tarnol police also recovered stolen valuables from their possession along with a 12-bore gun.

The Ramna police arrested a man and recovered a pistol along with ammunition from him.

Two people were nabbed by Khanna police after a 30-bore pistol and 110 grams heroin were recovered from their possession.

The police said cases have been registered against the arrested suspects and investigations are underway.
