HYDERABAD, Aug 11: A spokesman for the Muttahida Qaumi Movement , Hyderabad zone, has dismissed as false and baseless allegations levelled by Jamaat-i-Islami candidates.

The spokesman said in a rejoinder that the Jamaat had been in a fix about the coming local bodies elections. It has not been able to find candidates. The few candidates that it has put up with great difficulty have been finding it difficult to seek public support. On the other hand, 50 Haq Parast candidates have returned unopposed from Hyderabad.

The Jamaat-i-Islami’s ‘frustration’ was therefore natural, the spokesman said and added that such allegations from its candidates were not new.
