Elderly man dies of dengue fever

KARACHI: A 71-year-old man died of dengue fever at a private hospital in Karachi on Wednesday, taking the death toll from this mosquito-borne disease to 21 since Jan 1, 2019.

A spokesperson for the Prevention and Control Programme for Dengue (PCPD) Sindh confirmed the death of the elderly man, resident of Scheme-36, district East. The principal diagnosis and reason for admission were complicated dengue fever, septic shock, renal failure and others.
