KOHAT: A huge fire at the Thall tehsil grid station in Hangu district completely burnt three feeders, which resulted in suspension of power supply to the Thall city, adjoining villages and Waziristan tribal districts on Wednesday.

The officials of civil defence, tehsil municipal administration and the police reached the scene and dozed off the blaze after efforts of one hour.

The officials said that feeders 1, 2 and 3 were charred in the incident which had disrupted the electricity supply to several villages, Thall city, and adjacent areas of North and South Waziristan districts.

An inquiry team has been constituted to determine the cause of the fire which caused a loss of about Rs45 million to Pesco, officials said, adding it would require a long time to restore power supply to the affected parts.
