ISLAMABAD: A woman was murdered allegedly by her ex-husband while a man lost his life in a road accident, police said on Thursday.

The station house officer (SHO) of Golra said the couple had married about 10 years ago and had two children - a boy and girl.

However, their marriage ended in a divorce six months ago. The boy was living with his father while the girl was with her mother, he added.

The woman along with her daughter lived in G-11/2. The SHO said her ex-husband came to her residence and asked her to hand over the keys to a vehicle which they had bought together, but she refused.

As a result, an argument started between them during which the man pulled out a pistol and shot her in the head and escaped.

The injured was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead, the SHO added.

Meanwhile, a man, identified as Mohammad Haseeb, was hit and killed by a speeding car on Khanna Bridge while he was crossing the road.
