Nowadays, people have become so artificial as if they are machines, devoid of emotions. Some of them have almost lost their humanity. People have become emotionless and brainless robots, who no longer feel sympathy for others.

Status, fame, superiority and selfishness have taken over these human traits. The one, who has infinite money, fame, a brand new vehicle and a luxurious house is perceived as a successful and a complete person.

It is well said by King Martin Luther that, “We have flown the air like birds and swum the sea like fish, but have yet to learn a simple act of walking like brothers.”

Everybody is sprinting fast in the race of becoming superior, famous and greater than others and has forgotten the true ambition and purpose of their lives.

There are countless examples of our inhumanity and carelessness. For instance, if someone encounters any mishap, say an accident or any other shocking incident where people are supposed to show concern, instead of helping, people gather around him/her to take pictures and record a video to put on social media and get likes and views for being on the spot.

Apart from that, if your relative is sick, it is likely that you or your family members will go and visit him/her. Would you also go and visit if you found out your watchman is sick? Or, ask yourself, if your maid’s kid falls and hits the ground and you are nearby, would you be kind enough to pick that kid up and call your maid?

There are various examples around us that we see and even do without even noticing how inhuman we have become.

Sticking with rich and affluent people may help in getting favours but being only friends to get favours means we are utterly selfish and greedy. We must not forget that we are humans and we were born to help each other. There are many people whose life depends on our help and courtesy.

Being a human and that also a Muslim, we must stand together and help and understand each other. We must act selflessly and stop pretending to be blind towards the miseries of the needy.

Charles Chaplin rightly said, “We think too much and feel too little, more than machinery, we need humanity, more than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost.”

So my young friends, all I want to reinforce here is that, we should not forget that we are humans and we are supposed to be people with a clean heart and helping hands.
