LAHORE: A young woman on Tuesday allegedly shot her friend dead in the street after chasing him on a motorcycle for marrying another woman in Raiwind area.

The police arrested the suspect who was identified as Fiza, a resident of Mission Colony, a police official said.

He said as per initial investigation, Mudassar and Fiza were friends and the former had promised to marry her.

Fiza, a divorcee, convinced her parents for her second marriage.

Later on, Fiza came to know that Mudassar cheated her and married another woman recently.

The official said Fiza harboured a grudge against Mudassar and hatched a plan to kill him with the help of Rizwan and Babar, both residents of the same area.

He said on Tuesday, Mudassar was going to market with his brother Mubashar on a motorbike, when Fiza, who was armed with a pistol, Rizwan and Babar started chasing them on two bikes.

As Mudassar and his brother reached near their residence, Fiza opened fire on them.

As a result, a bullet hit Mudasar in the chest and he died on the spot.

The police have lodged a murder case against Fiza and her two accomplices.

The police later arrested Fiza, the police official said.
