DERA MURAD JAMALI: Security forces killed a suspected militant during a search operation in the Chatter area of Sibi district on Saturday.

Security officials said that personnel from the Sibi Scouts, a wing of the paramilitary Frontier Corps, conducted a search operation in Chatter on a tip-off about the presence of a militant.

The armed suspect opened fire on security personnel who fired back and the exchange of fire resulted in his death.

“A hardcore terrorist was killed in the shootout,” a senior security official said, adding that a large cache of ammunition and explosives were seized from the place of the firing.
