HARIPUR: The deputy commissioner of Haripur district on Thursday froze the revenue records of the property owned by PML-N leader Shahbaz Sharif’s wife Tehmina Durrani and bannedits sale and transfer or any change it until further orders.

“I have ordered the freezing of the records after making red entries against the identified property in the revenue records that the owners or occupants are not allowed to make any changes or transfer the right of property to any person whosoever till the completion of investigation by the NAB,” DC Arifullah Awan told Dawn.

Referring a letter from the NAB, the DC said the property identified by the anti-graft watchdog as Tehmina Durrani’s was situated in the revenue limits of Pir Sohawa village of Khanpur tehsil in Haripur district bordering Islamabad.

He said Khanpur tehsildar Hasrat Khan visited the Whispering Pine Resorts Pirsohawa village of Haripur district along with his revenue staff and handed over the orders of the NAB and district administration to Mohammad Siddique Chowdhry, manager (administration) of Whispering Pines Resort.

He said the NAB didn’t order the taking over of the property in question.

Meanwhile, the NAB letter identified three properties of Tehmina Durrani in the revenue limits of Khanpur tehsil.

They included Cottage No 23 in Khasra No 371 in Whispering Pines Resorts, Pir Sohawa Mouza Makhniyal, Villa No 19 measuring six marlas in the same Khasra number in the same housing scheme, and a plotmeasuring six marlas there.

However, the revenue records of Khanpur tehsil show that Khasra No 371 had 22 kanals and few marlas of land in Pir Sohawa village bordering Islamabad.

Of the land, only two plots now covered under a cottage and a villa measuring 7.5 marlas was transferred in the name of Ms Tehmina Durrani in 2011-12.

According to revenue records, Ms Tehmina is the owner of only seven and a half marlas of land, which is covered under a cottage and a villa.
