QUETTA: A member of the provincial assembly on Monday filed a petition in the Balochistan High Court (BHC) challenging the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the next financial year.

Nawaz Khan Kakar of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has claimed in his petition that the scrutiny team of the Planning and Development department had not approved the schemes included in the PSDP and it was a violation of the high court’s order.

The court accepted the petition and issued notices to the provincial government and the opposition and fixed June 28 for its hearing.

Minister for Food Abdul Rehman Khetiran informed the Balochistan Assembly about filing of the petition.

JUI-F member Mir Younis Aziz Zehri informed the house that his party had not taken any decision to challenge the PSDP in court.
