Petition filed in IHC against PCB, chief selector

ISLAMABAD: A petition has been filed before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Saturday seeking action against chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and chief selector of the national team for their poor performance in the on-going World Cup.

The petitioner, a local citizen, also requested the court to direct the authorities to make the inquiries related to alleged grouping within the team public.

The petition cited ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination, PCB chairman and chief selector as respondents.

A part of it stated: “the instant petition has been filed to invoke extra-ordinary constitutional jurisdiction of this Hon’ble Court for taking all such steps, that are deemed necessary, to curb the evils of nepotism, favoritism, despotism, corruption, and mal-administration in the national cricket board.”It also raised some questions related to the selection of the team players.

While the topic does hold some weight it is a ridiculous petition. Unfortunately this has been going on for a very long time, nepotism is a tradition in the PCB. Shouldn’t this petition be filed against Najam Sethi seeing that Inzamam was hired by him.

PCB is the most dysfunctional organization in the world. These 3 freebies on the payroll, Ehsan Mani, Inzamam ul Haq and Wasim Khan have contributed nothing to Pakistan's cricket, except, picking up big fat juicy salary every month. Imran Khan need to act and eliminate this irrational expenditure from Pakistan's cricket. Ehasan mani date expired he have 1992 experience, it is too old 72 years, dual citizen, same thing for Wasim khan is dual citizen, do Pakistan have shortage of management and head coach, let comes to Inzimamul haq, having selecting his bhatija, and killed Ahmed Shazad, Khuram Manzoor, Fawad Alam and Abid Ali, what is progress of Bhatija aka Imamul Haq. It is correct decision, let court decide, Inzi in the Pakistan history no selector tour foreign country and taking US$ 500.

I am amazed to see that people are really disappointed by such a dismal performance by our cricket team. I believe that when there are issues of favourtism, no merit policy, accountability and no KPI for players performance and fitness how the cricket will move forward. I am not a cricket fan but still people around me used to see it. I hope this petition will leave towards a better inquiry and arrangements for the PCB towards future progress and prosperity.
