KARACHI: A woman was shot dead allegedly by her husband in Korangi Industrial Area on Saturday night over ‘honour’, said police.

They added that the suspect, Qadir Dad, opened indiscriminate fire on his wife, Qazbano, 45, inside their home in Mehran Town.

She sustained critical bullet wounds and was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival, said Dr Seemin Jamali, executive director of the JPMC.

The victim sustained three bullet wounds on her chest.

Area SHO Aurangzeb Khattab said the murder appeared to be linked with ‘the matter of honour’.

The alleged killer was arrested with the pistol used in the murder.
