Mother’s Day is fast approaching, most of you may have thought of presenting your mum with something special or unique by now. However, if you are short of ideas, today’s craft might help you in making something unique with your own hands.

Things you need:

  1. A piece of cardboard (not more than 10-inches width and 10-inches length)

  2. Scrapes of coloured papers or different coloured felt (red, pink, green, yellow)

  3. White glue, hot glue or UHU tube (whatever available to you)

  4. Black marker

  5. Any coloured string (18-inches)

  6. Scissors

Directions:

Note: We will start with the back side of our card.

  1. Draw the shape of a garden pot on the cardboard (five-inches lengthwise), see picture 2 and cut it out.

  2. Cut 2.5-inches of trapezoid from the remaining cardboard (according to the size of the pot); then cut three strips of 2.5 inches from the remaining cardboard, picture 3.

  3. Cut out pot from the colourful felt (the same size you cut from the cardboard); then cut out four different coloured flowers again from the felt (the size of each flower has to be at least 1.5-inches) then cut out an uneven grass from green felt (keep in mind the top of the pot where you have to paste this), see picture 4.

  4. Paste grass behind the pot and then paste the cardboard strips on both sides of the pot, picture 5.

  5. Paste the third strip on the bottom and then glue the trapezoid on top of all these three strips, this will create a pocket, see pictures 6 and 7.

  6. To make the front side, paste red felt cut in the shape of a pot on it, and decorate the way you like by writing a wish or a message. Put it aside.

  7. Take the string and paste flowers on it, leaving some space among all four, picture 8.

  8. Write “I love you, mum” with each word being on each flower, picture 9.

  9. Paste the string behind the pot, picture 10.

  10. Let the flowers dry completely and then put the string with flowers attached inside the pocket, with something sweet, such as chocolates, etc., and present it to your mum, picture 11.
