MULTAN: JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman says injustice is being done with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif as he has been deprived of his most basic rights.

Speaking to the media here on Sunday, he claimed that Nawaz Sharif was being politically victimised.

“The Musharraf era continues. The rulers are heading for bankruptcy and people are offended by the government,” he said.

He said deliberations were under way to recognise Israel. “Support is being generated for Israel within parliament,” he said.

He said the government had announced on the completion of 100 days that the prices of electricity and gas had been increased. “They said it had not been done on the recommendation of the International Monitory Fund but it had been done by the government. After the completion of 200 days, they have moved the IMF. Had it been done by Nawaz Sharif, there would have been a hue and cry,” he said.

“Immediate return of the (Indian) pilot was not a right decision. If Nawaz Sharif would have taken this decision, he would have been declared ‘Modi ka yar’,” he added. He said India had lost the war which Modi initiated for political point scoring.

He said the opposition parties enjoyed the support of the masses.
