LARKANA: A large number of people from different walks of life took out a protest rally in Naudero town on Saturday to condemn the recent murder of three labourers in the town.

The participants led by Mushtaq Sarki, Punhal Sariyo, Manzoor Mangi, Barrister Akhtar Jabbar, Zahid Qaimkhani, Shaista Khoso and others held a march from Bab-i-Shahnawaz to Allahwala Chowk raising slogans for ethnic harmony in the province.

The three labourers, Waheed Gul, Raees Khan and Arif Gul, hailing from Bajaur, were gunned down by unknown assailants. The protesters staged a sit-in and offered their condolences to the bereaved families.

Speaking to the participants, the leaders said that the incident was part of a conspiracy to disturb peace in the province. They said the people of Sindh would foil this conspiracy.

They called for an impartial probe into the incident to unmask the culprits.

Mushtaq Sarki noted that people from Karachi, Hyderabad, Naushahro Feroze, Khairpur, Qambar, Larkana, Dadu and several other cities travelled to Naudero to take part in the protest and condolence meeting.

Barrister Akhtar Jabbar said their participation proved that Sindh was the land of peace-loving people. He said Sindh had risen over Ranjhani’s and Zainab’s murder as well.

Manzoor Mangi said killings on ethnic basis and a conspiracy to disturb ethnic harmony could not be tolerated.

Punhal Sariyo said we [Sindhis] are peace-loving people and it stood true as neither a cutter nor a missile was discovered from under the ruins of Moenjodaro.

He also spoke about the attacks in the period of Shah Inayat on Sindh from different sides and added the Karsaz sit-in against Ranjhani’s murder had remained so peaceful that not a single stone was thrown at any vehicle. He said no Sindhi was involved in the murder of the three labourers.

Saifullah Pathan of the Pathan Welfare Association said Sindhi and Pakhtuns had been living peacefully together for decades. Any conspiracy to disturb peace in the province would be foiled, he added.

Munawwar Ranjhani, the brother of Irshad Ranjhani, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl leader Abdul Salam Dharejo, Sadaruddin Umrani and others also spoke.
