ISLAMABAD, June 30: A new Rs5 postage stamp made its entry on Thursday as the Rs5 currency bowed out of circulation. Pakistan Post has issued the commemorative postage stamp on Akhtar Shirani in its series of Poets of Pakistan. While the main post offices attracted stamp collectors keen for first day issues of the new stamp, the Rs5 currency note holders were seen exchanging them at commercial banks in the city.

Some however held on to the disbanded note as curios for their children in the e-commerce age where plastic money may completely oust paper money.
