KHAR: The candidates applying online for jobs in the education department in Bajaur tribal district on Friday demanded of the government to designate more banks for depositing fee along with the applications as a single bank for this purpose could not manage the rush.

Talking to this scribe, they said that the provincial ministry of education had designated only one bank for depositing fee and they had been facing inconvenience due to insufficient staff and facilities at the local bank.

They said that thousands of youths in the district had been depositing fee for the teaching jobs having the application deadline of Jan 31.

Tariq Nawaz, a youth from Salarzai region, told this correspondent it was his second day that he had been standing in the line outside the bank in Khar to deposit the fee, but still awaited his turn due to heavy rush of applicants.

The applicants said that at least 3,000 candidates had been visiting the bank daily to deposit the fee since the government advertised the posts a week ago.

They said that the local bank branch had been able to deposit fee of 80 to 90 candidates a day owing to shortage of staff.

They claimed that the bank management had appointed only one official for depositing fee. They feared that most of the applicants might not be able to deposit their fee with their online applications for the said posts by Jan 31, if the process wasn’t accelerated.

When contacted, an official of the designated bank confirmed shortage of staff and facilities for the applicants. He said that they had requested for deputing at least two more staff in the bank.
