QUETTA: Senior Provincial Minister for Local Government Sardar Saleh Bhotani has said that the government has decided to take action against incompetent and corrupt government employees.

“People have given us mandate to revamp the flawed system. The previous Chief Officer of Pishin was sacked for his poor performance and action will be taken against officers not filling their responsibilities,” Sardar Bhotani said while visiting the Pishin district on Sunday.

During his visit, he met JUI-F member of Balochistan Assembly member Haji Asghar Khan Tareen, the DC of Pishin, councillors and government officials.

He said the government would not allow the waste of public money and would treat all districts equally.

“We have been receiving complaints regarding local bodies’ system from across the province and have constituted a committee, headed by DG Akhter Baloch, to look into the matter,” Mr Bhotani said. He also expressed indignation over poor cleanliness conditions in Pishin.

He said the committee would visit the city to listen to grievances of the people about the local bodies’ system.
