NAWABSHAH, June 19: The Government of Sindh has finalized a proposal for division of the Nawabshah taluka. A source in the revenue department told this correspondent on Sunday that the government had finalized the proposal.

According to the proposal, sent to the government the taluka will be divided into 14 union councils.

The source said a change was made in the proposal and UC Gupchhani was given under Daur taluka, leaving the taluka with 13 union councils.

The source said, Gupchhani, earlier a part of Sanghar district, was included in the district and Nawabshah taluka on administrative grounds, adding that with a population of about 20,000, the union council was a stronghold of the Pakistan People’s Party.
