ISLAMABAD: A woman was booked on charges of abusing police officials at an entry point to the Diplomatic Enclave, sources told Dawn.

The woman was a doctor by profession and running a clinic in Islamabad, the police said, adding her CNIC was carrying present address of UAE and permanent address of Chaklala Scheme II, Rawalpindi.

She came to Gate-1 of the Diplomatic Enclave in a black Honda car, which did not have the number plate.

When the police officials saw a car without a number plate they intercepted her.

On inquiry, she introduced herself and said she was heading towards the US Embassy, the police stated, adding that however, she was denied entry as, according to the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) vehicles without the registration number plates were not allowed to enter the enclave.

As a result the woman lost her temper and started threatening the officials with dire consequences, they said, adding that she also used foul language.

Later, she produced the registration number plate, the officials said, adding that she also made a call and handed over her mobile phone to a policeman at the gate.

The man on the other side of the call introduced himself as an official of the embassy and asked the policeman to allow the woman to enter the enclave, but the policeman refused. Later, the woman left the place.

A case has been registered against the woman at Secretariat Police Station under PPCs 341, 353, 186 and 506ii.
