MIRPUR: Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan said on Sunday his government was serving people without discrimination or political affiliation.

Speaking at different public gatherings and meetings in Hajirah sector, he said the government was aware of importance of roads and highways and that’s why it was building 542 kilometres of main roads, 580 kilometres of link roads and renovating and rebuilding 455 kilometres of old roads.

In the next budget, he said, the government intended to set aside Rs10 billion for link roads. He said the government had restructured the Public Service Commission and introduced NTS system to ensure merit and transparency.

Recalling services of late K.B. Khan, the AJK prime minister said he was a committed leader and remained in parliament for a long time because of his popularity.

He expressed the hope that the people would vote for the grandson of Mr Khan.

AJK ministers Dr Najeeb Naqi, Mushtaq Minhas, Barrister Iftikhar Gillani and Deputy Speaker Sardar Farooq Tahir also addressed public meetings and urged the people to vote for Sardar Altaf Amir in upcoming by-elections.

Speaking at a public rally, AJK Minister for Information, Tourism and IT Raja Mushtaq Minhas claimed that the PML-N government had fulfilled all promises it had made with the masses in the last elections.

Speaking at a public meeting at Hajirah sector, Mr Minhas said that late K.B. Khan was a long-time lawmaker who served the people of his area with remarkable passion, adding that Mr Khan was a legend and one of Poonch’s very popular leaders.

He said that Mr Khan’s sudden death had left a big void which would be hard to be filled.

Mr Minhas expressed the hope that Sardar Amir Altaf would win elections and carry the mission left by late Mr Khan.

He said that he was confident that Mr Altaf would serve the people of his area with the same dedication and commitment which was shown by his grandfather.
