Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) has announced that it will begin a "decisive march" from Lahore to Islamabad on Wednesday, and will "stay on the streets until either the publication of blasphemous cartoons in the Netherlands end or the govt immediately ends diplomatic ties with the Dutch".
Incensed by an announcement by Dutch parliamentarian Geert Wilders to hold a competition of blasphemous caricatures, the TLP held a meeting in Lahore on Sunday and came up with its line of action and demands.
The religiopolitical party urged the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government to not only "discontinue diplomatic and commercial relations with the Netherlands" but also "demand from other Islamic countries to do the same".
The TLP also demands that since the said competition's judge is an American national, "therefore, strict measures should also be taken against the US".
Furthermore, the party said that "it will take to the streets at 2pm on Wednesday (August 29) and begin from Data Darbar Lahore its march towards the capital."
The blasphemous cartoon contest, scheduled for November, is being organised in the Netherlands by Wilders — a right-wing anti-Islam lawmaker.
Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, however, has distanced his government from the controversial contest, saying: "Wilders is not a member of the government. The competition is not a government initiative."

PTI has already recorded official protest to Holland's government relating to publishing disgraceful cartoon organised by an anti-Islam politician. I don't think TPL protest will serve any purpose, apart from a cheap and indecisive publicity for a few hours.

TLP has right to protest within legal boundaries. They however do not have right to force the government to severe relations with Denmark.
The better action on their part will be to approach all muslim countries for a joint strategy.

Instead of coming in the streets, burning effigies, burning tires, breaking shop windows, and bringing city lives to a standstill, Muslim organizations should adopt a constructive approach. Why not organize Quranic exhibitions that defy the blasphemous caricatures and shame their creators and organizers? Also, engage in interfaith dialogues. Tell them there is a lot common between Muslims, Christians and Jews (We are all people of books) and we should respect each other.

The PTI has already lodged a protest. The Dutch Govt. has clarified it has no role in the publication of this cartoon. Such protest marches in Pakistan will have no effect on such mischief mongers in Holland and other countries. On the other hand they will be more incentivised to publish more such cartoons and watch with glee the resulting mayhem that would unfold in the streets of Pakistan, disturbing traffic flow and create problems and chaos for the general public and the newly formed Govt. of Pakistan. As despicable as such cartoons are we have to deal with the matter unemotionally instead of further harming ourselves by our emotionally charged action. This might motivate other evil elements in various other countries to indulge in such hateful exercise. They would continue to do this. The best way to stop them is just to ignore them and let them waste their time, energy and resources on such evil action, and when they see nothing is happening, they will stop. Then would it be practicable or sensible to break relations with all these countries. Please think about it and please do not fall in the trap of such hatemongers. We much use our common sense and intelligence.

There are more pressing needs that need attention in the Muslim countries. The perpetrators of cartoon contest simply laugh when the protest in Muslim countries disrupt the lives of the common man on the street. The best solution is to lodge a peaceful protest instead of violent large demonstration that disrupts the normal life of citizenry trying to make ends meet daily in the countries. Better yet ignoring the cartoon criminals will send a strong message that they have failed to make a point and that their stupid act has no significance and it does not in any way belittle Islam or Muslims. The more people protest in random and vague manner hurting themselves, the more the stupid cartoonist repeat their acts.

All our leaders should be concentrating all their attention and efforts to get Pakistan out of the mire, left to us by incumbent, useless leaders and governments of the past.I say, leave religious problems to the religious ministry. There is no need for PM, FM, and many other ministries who have no concern with the subject, jumping in to put in their 'two penny's' worth.
