TIMERGARA: Lower Dir administration on Thursday launched a crackdown to remove banners and hoardings of political parties and politicians exceeding the standards set by the Election Commission of Pakistan.

In light of the code of conduct under section 23 of the ECP rules for the coming general election, deputy commissioner Sarmad Saleem asked all tehsil municipal officers to remove banners/flexes exceeding the recommended size of 3x9 feet.

In this regard, the Adenzai TMA started removing the banners larger than the recommended size here on Thursday. An official of the administration told this scribe that the drive would be extended to all subdivisions of the district to implement the ECP decision.

The TMA officials removed gigantic banners and hoardings of poll candidates and asked the local leaders of political parties not to fix them again.

Meanwhile, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Malakand, on Thursday said that it would announce results of its Secondary School Certificate examinations-2018 on July 2.

According to a notification issued by the board’s controller of examinations, a function at the board’s auditorium would be held on July 2 in which names of the top position-holders would be announced.

MEDICAL CAMP:The Pakistan Army’s Chakdara battalion set up a free medical camp at the basic health unit, Khadagzai, here on Thursday. Hundreds of patients were provided with free medical care, medicines and laboratory facilities.

Commandant Dir Task Force Col Shehzad Amir visited the camp and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements.
