ABBA reunite after 35 years!
ABBA have reunited to record their first new material in 35 years.
They have recorded two new songs, one of which — “I Still Have Faith In You” — will be unveiled at the end of the year. The four band members have been working together to plan a tour in which virtual reality avatars perform their songs.
A joint statement from Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, Agnetha Faltskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad said: “We all four felt that, after some 35 years, it could be fun to join forces again and get into the recording studio. So we did. And it was like time had stood still and that we only had been away on a short holiday. An extremely joyful experience! “It resulted in two new songs and one of them, “I Still Have Faith In You”, will be performed by our digital selves in a TV special ... aimed for broadcasting in December. “We may have come of age, but the song is new. And it feels good.”
Steve Irwin gets posthumous star
Nature documentary host Steve Irwin — best known to his fans as the “Crocodile Hunter” — received a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame recently.
Irwin, an Australian zookeeper and TV star who died in 2006 after a stingray pierced his heart, was remembered as a dedicated conservationist who spent his life exploring the natural world.
“Whether it was heights or the depth diving, he really had no fear,” said Irwin’s wife, Terri Irwin. “I couldn’t hold a candle to how adventurous Steve was. He found life intoxicating and he was just in awe of every living creature.”
His daughter Bindi Irwin said, “And this is a celebration of his life and it’s always going to be emotional, but I think these are just happy and proud tears. We miss him so much.”
Tremors no longer in works
A planned Tremors television series is no longer in the works at Syfy, actor-producer Kevin Bacon announced via Instagram.
“Sad to report that my dream of revisiting the world of Perfection will not become a reality,” Bacon wrote. “Although we made a fantastic pilot (IMHO) the network has decided not to move forward. Thanks to our killer cast and everyone behind the scenes who worked so hard. And always keep one eye out for GRABOIDS!”
Bacon, appeared in the original 1990 Tremors creature feature, which was followed by four direct-to-video sequels and a short-lived television series. The re-booted show would have picked up 25 years after the first film, with Bacon once again playing Valentine McKee, the hero who must protect the town of Perfection, Nev. from giant, killer worms.
