LAHORE: Pashtun Falahi Tanzeem organised here on Sunday a Pakistan Istehkam conference.

Hundreds of people belonging to Pashtun community in the city gathered at a marriage hall in Gulshan-e-Ravi to pledge their support for the armed forces. Tanzeem president Haji Nadir, secretary general Saleem Qadri and others were present in the conference.

Haji Nadir said they had gathered here to assure their support to the army for restoring peace in the region after rendering sacrifices. He said some elements were creating a situation to destabilize the country.

He criticized the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement for trying to divide Pakhtuns. He said they would not allow anyone to disturb the peace and urged people not toe the line of such elements.Earlier, the Pakistan Zindabad Movement (PZM) on Saturday took out a pro-army rally in the city. Watan Tahfuz Movement (WTM) had also announced a rally to condemn PTM Mochi Gate Jalsa but they had cancelled their protest.
