LAHORE: The Punjab University with 1,565 points emerged winner in the Archery Team Event final of the First Chief Minister Punjab Pink Games 2024 on the second day at the SBP Archery Centre, Nishtar Park Sports Complex, on Friday.

In the individual category, Seema Yaqoob of University of Lahore (UoL) secured first position with 283 points. The second and third positions were taken by Bisma Farooq of Punjab University and Areeb Fatima from University of Lahore with 264 and 258 points, respectively.

Defence Attache South Korea Embassy Mr Jinyeong Heo and DG Local Govt Tariq Mehmood and Syeda Nimra Fatima distributed prizes.

In the athletics event, Lahore College for Women University with 117 points grabbed first position. Punjab University with 79 points stood second while the third position was taken by Government College University with 53 points..

In the Individual category, Seema Yaqoob of University of Lahore secured top position with 283 points. The second and third positions were taken by Bisma Farooq of PU and Areeb Fatima from University of Lahore with 264 and 258 points, respectively. LCWU shocked Kinnaird College by a huge margin of 8-0. For the winners, Areeba Sarwar scored four while Areej Gul, Laiba Yasmeen, Rukhsar Aslam and Shakeela Iqbal contributed one goal apiece.

In basketball, LCWU defeated Punjab University by 32-16 in the first match while University of Sargodha outplayed University of Central Punjab by a big difference of 22-2 in the second match. GCU beat BZU Multan by 12-3 while GCU Sialkot was awarded a walkover against FCC.

Table Tennis: Kinnaird College beat Islamia University 3-0:

Zainab Waqar (KC) beats Ersa Munir (Islamia University by 3-0, Hadia beats Sadaf Gulraz by 3-0 and Arshia beat Mehwish by 3-0.

GCU (Fsbd) beat Fatima Jinnah University 3-1, Jannat beats Anoosha Akhtar by 3-1, Rimsha beat Mahnoor Syed by 3-1, Ambeer Gul beat Rabia Iqbal 3-1 and Rimsha beats Anoosha 3-0.

Badminton (pre-quarterfinal): Islamia University beat University of Education (Lhr) 3-0: Forman Christian College beat Fatima Jinnah Women University (Rwp) 3-0, Kinnaird College beat University of Sargodha 3-1, UCP beat Ghazi University Dera Ghazi Khan 3-0. LCWU beat University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences by 3-2, University of Lahore beat Government College for Women (Slkt) 3-0 Bahaudin Zakariya University beat GCU 3-1.

Cricket: FC College University beat University of Health Sciences by 24 runs.

Punjab University beat UVAS by 45. Bahauddin Zakariya University beat Kinnaird College for Women University by 8 wickets.
