ISLAMABAD: A photograph of Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar posing with female flight attendants on board a PIA flight was the subject of a light-hearted conversation in the Supreme Court on Tuesday.

Senior counsel Naeem Bokhari, who appeared before a three-member bench to plead a case in his usual jovial manner, started off by claiming that he was about to lodge a complaint against the chief justice.

Following the announcement, he quickly added that he would do so during his next appearance with the chief justice in a different case later in the day.

The chief justice, however, urged Mr Bokhari to lodge any complaints that he might have concerning his ongoing cases. At this, the senior counsel brought up the chief justice’s photograph with three PIA air hostesses that has recently gone viral all over social media.

Amid a relaxed atmosphere, the chief justice asked Mr Bokhari if he was feeling jealous, to which the senior counsel replied gleefully that the chief justice had overextended and was veering into the domain of lawyers, and it was as if the honourable judge had denied them their rights.

Referring to the air hostesses as daughters, the chief justice explained that in such cases it was difficult to turn down a request for a photograph.

“You rightly said so,” the counsel replied.
