KARACHI: The Sindh Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Monday approved 12 development schemes worth Rs1.5 billion for the current fiscal year.

The schemes, approved by Planning and Development Board Chairman Muhammad Waseem, pertain to Works and Services, health, education and vocational training.

Five schemes were approved in the Works and Services Department. Another three schemes were approved for school education including the establishing of 25 units/English-medium schools (Cambridge System nursery to O levels) – one in each district worth Rs5,385.911 million.

One scheme was approved in Public Health Engineering Department. One scheme approved in the Health sector which includes the establishment of 30-bed paediatric intensive care unit at Liaquat University Hospital, Hyderabad at a cost of Rs273.46m.

One scheme was approved in the Information, Science and Technology sector. The PDWP gave go-ahead for the construction of B-tech Section at Government College of Technology at a cost of Rs270.71m.
