TIMERGARA: A team of health officials on Monday sealed several privately-run clinical laboratories in Timergara for being run without proper documentation.

The team also sealed the pharmacy and operation theatre of a private hospital for keeping substandard equipment and medicines.

Also on Monday, dealers of LPG were warned against selling the commodity beyond the officially-fixed rate of Rs115 per kilogramme.

The warning was issued by Additional Assistant Commissioner, Adenzai, Aleem Khan Umarzai during a visit to different markets in Chakdara.

He also fined several shopkeepers on the spot for overcharging.

Talking to journalists and traders’ body representatives on the occasion, he said shopkeepers involved in overcharging and selling substandard food items would face action.

He said the administration had received complaints about the traders selling LPG at rates higher than those fixed by the government, and warned them of action.

He also warned bakers to follow official weights of bread and other items.

Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner, Lal Qila, Jamaluddin on the directives of deputy commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram visited the Kaladag Bazaar and directed the local SHO to register FIRs against the violators of official price list. He also directed the chicken sellers to observe hygiene.

ANTI-TRUMP PROTEST: The Timergara traders’ body on Monday staged a demonstration against US President Donald Trump for declaring Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Led by president Anjuman-i-Tajiran Timergara Haji Anwaruddin, the participants observed a shutter down and walked on the roads.

The protesters gathered at the Gorgorai Chowk, where speakers condemned the US president for declaring war on Muslims by recognising Jerusalem as the Israeli capital.

CANDIDATE WITHDRAWS: An independent candidate for tehsil a councillor seat from Shahikhel union council on Monday announced to withdraw in favour of Jamaat-i-Islami candidate.

Saeedullah made the decision at a function at Kalpani where finance minister Muzafar Syed was the chief guest.
